We enjoyed a lovely two-night stay at Akaroa Village Inn, perfectly located a short stroll from the beautiful waterfront. Our balcony room offered stunning views, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine. The flat was clean and well-appointed for our family, including my 89-year-old mother. Nearby attractions like the Akaroa Museum and dolphin tours kept us entertained, making it a good experience.

We lived in the penthouse apartment with shower and comfortable beds plus balcony. It offered very good service and good food too.

Location: the hotel was close enough to the harbour and hills, the centre of the village across the road from the waterfront with great views of the harbour and surrounding mountains, and restaurants & shopd. It also was by coach to venues away from the Akaroa township.

Fantastic location just a minute's walk to the wharf, perfect for our family adventures. Spacious apartment with a comfortable king bed, a cozy front garden, and plenty of room for five of us. The staff were lovely, always ready to assist. Loved having a well-equipped kitchen for meals. The seating in the lounge was limited. Only a small couch didn't really accommodate our entire family at once. A bit of updating in the decor would also be appreciated as it felt slightly tired. A great stay but minor improvements could enhance the experience further.

The view from the second-floor balcony was fine and offered a perfect vantage point for the harbor. The location was convenient, just a short 50 yards from the dolphin swimming adventure I booked for my wife.
The apartment felt outdated, with worn furniture and an uncomfortable couch. The decor bore signs of aging, with wallpaper from the 1980s peeling off and a strong musty odor lurking about. To make things worse, we arrived to find no hot water, which forced us into cold showers after a long day. The apartment did not align with the expectations set by the images online, and cleanliness was a concern, leaving us slightly disappointed for the price we paid.

The thoughtfully designed bedroom featured a free-standing table beside the basin, enhancing convenience. the well-appointed kitchen came equipped with all the necessary facilities, making meal preparation a breeze.
I did notice a slight inconvenience with the Wi-Fi connection, which was occasionally spotty.

Beautiful Experience at the Village Inn
Our family of five had a wonderful stay in apartment 44, primarily chosen for its close proximity to the Swimming with Dolphins experience, which we eagerly anticipated. The Village Inn exceeded our expectations with its homely atmosphere, offering personalized service thanks to individually owned apartments. We especially appreciated the friendly staff and convenient onsite parking that made our daily adventures effortless. The vibrant local culture and the stunning landscapes of Banks Peninsula made our visit lovely.
Small lounge area.

The view from my room was amazing.
The walls were paper-thin, letting in every sound from upstairs. The kitchen was quite dated, and the mattress in the second bedroom felt overly soft and uncomfortable. The WiFi was practically non-existent, so I struggled to stay connected .

Sunset vibes in Akaroa 🌅
Room had a fine view from the balcony, perfect for sundowners-definitely a highlight! Lyndal at the reception was super friendly. The location's great, easy to walk around and explore the little shops and cafes.
Only stayed for one night. Could've used a bit more brekkie options.

We had a lovely sea view from our apartment, proper cozy and clean as a whistle! The staff were top-notch, made sure we had just what we needed. Only downside was the noise from the bus gathering in the mornin’, but nothin' major. Happy days!
